collecting dvds, no time to watch

It’s been a while since the last time I watched a movie with my new day job on the scene. The split-shift is taking up most of my time as well as the awkward mall hour’s schedule. I’m not whining because one way or the other I love what I’m doing. Just that I can no longer do the things I’m used to doing for the past three years. But, I’m sure it’s just a matter of time management and adjustment. Currently, I’m still trying to adjust with my new lifestyle.

Despite that I continue buying discount dvd movies. It could be of great use in the future. Having dvd’s will enable me to watch whenever I have some free time although that possibility is blink. It’s better to have some reserves since I will never know when I will have free time. But, I will surely watch all of those movies one way or the other.

Blake Lively Face MTV Movie Awards Despite Scandal

A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do and, in Blake Lively’s case, that means promoting the upcoming “Green Lantern.” Putting the leaked photos scandal behind her, Blake was on hand at the MTV Movie Awards 2011. Though, speculation late last week had it that she would still attend the awards show to promote the film, there were some doubts that she’d actually make it, especially after the public embarrassment of the leaked pics.

As it turns out, Blake honored her commitment, put on a brave face and came to the awards show. Not only did the “Gossip Girl” star pose for pictures on the red carpet, but she also made an appearance onstage, together with “Green Lantern” co-star Ryan Reynolds, to present the award for Best Kiss.

Over the weekend, fresh reports were saying that there was a very good chance she’d personally leaked her private photos to drum up publicity for “Green Lantern,” her first major action movie role. The rumors were backed up by none other than Joe Francis of “Girls Gone Wild,” who claimed to know for a fact that it was so, though he didn’t offer any evidence for it.

Puppy for a Lonely Robert Pattinson

He may be one of the most popular young actors of the day but, when he’s not surrounded by his screaming fans, Robert Pattinson is actually a very lonely guy. In order to be less alone when he’s on the road, staying at hotels, the British star has adopted a puppy. Daily Record conduct a very extensive interview with the heartthrob in which he talks, among many other things, about how hard it is to be always on the road working because evenings tend to be incredibly lonely.

Some stars have entourages that travel with them wherever they may go, but this is not his case, Robert says in the interview. He believes his friends’ egos are simply too big to agree to leave their homes and fly halfway across the world just because he wants them there.

“I know it’s sad. A lot of actors have a bunch of people who kind of just go up and stay with them for like two months, like an entourage. But my friends, their egos are too big. They’d be like, ‘I’m not part of your entourage. I’ll stay in a free hotel for a bit if it’s in New York or LA but I’m not going to come out to some random town in the sticks’,” the actor explains.

“But that’s kind of why I adopted the puppy. It’s from a shelter and he was going to be put down. I only got him two or three days ago and they only keep them for 10 days. He’s been freaked out. It’s funny. I got a private plane here from Louisiana, where I was filming Twilight, so he came out of the shelter and the next day he’s on a private plane. A bit like Lady And The Tramp,” the actor jokes.

Jolie Hates Thanksgiving Day?

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie is so sensitive to other people’s suffering that she won’t even consider celebrating Thanksgiving. In fact, she’s gone out of her way to make sure her family was not in America for the Holiday. Sources are telling PopEater that America’s most famous family won’t be joining in giving thanks this weekend because Angeline believes there’s no reason to celebrate murder.

Clearly, there’s nothing glorious about the tradition and she won’t have her children raised believing there is. The fact that she’s now abroad in Europe shooting for her directorial debut suits her just fine right now because she didn’t want to be in the US in the first place for the holiday.

“Angelina Jolie hates this holiday and wants no part in rewriting history like so many other Americans,” a close friend of the actress. To celebrate what the white settlers did to the native Indians, the domination of one culture over another just isn’t her style. She definitely doesn’t want to teach her multi-cultural family how to celebrate a story of murder,” the spy adds. In fact, the source claims, Angelina may have planned shooting for her film in such a way as to have the schedule superimposed to the Thanksgiving weekend.

“Angelina gets so grossed out by Thanksgiving that she has made sure her family will not be in America this year on Thursday,” the spy dishes. If Brad wants turkey, he will have to cook it himself. For Angie, it will be another day when America tries to rewrite history,” the source says, quite convinced that there’s absolutely no chance to talk Jolie out of not celebrating Thanksgiving.

Batman Director Won’t Recast Heath Ledger’s Joker

Before he gets started on the third film in the new “Batman” franchise, Christopher Nolan has “Inception” to promote, a mind-twisting thriller that takes place in man’s dreams and that is even getting some pretty major Oscar buzz. However, for all those fans out there speculating on whether Heath Ledger’s The Joker should be recast, Nolan has a very clear message: The Joker is never coming back.

As fans of the franchise with Christian Bale as the caped crusader must know, “The Dark Knight” brought one of the best accomplished villains to life. Late Australian actor Heath Ledger played the villain and even won an Oscar for it – unfortunately, it was too late for him to come and personally accept the award as he’d passed from an accidental overdose. Now, Nolan is saying that chapter is forever closed, as the Herald Sun informs.

Asked about whether there were any plans to recast The Joker while promoting “Inception,” Nolan was very to the point: that would be disrespectful to fans and, first and foremost, to the memory of the great actor that was Heath. “For me, Heath was the definitive Joker. It wouldn’t feel appropriate to readdress that character,” he said, as cited by the aforementioned publication. He would not reveal more details about which villains may appear in the third installment, though buzz remains pretty strong that Two-Face will probably be getting more screen time in it.

Celine Dion ‘pregnant with twins’

Singer Celine Dion is pregnant with twins, it was announced a few days ago. The pregnancy is the result of several fertilization treatments, which left her body feeling a bit tired and which also make for the reason why she’s now happy even when she has morning sickness. It’s all a sign that it’s real and that the pregnancy is progressing, Celine herself says in a new interview cited by People magazine.

“The first two months I really felt the classical symptoms. The morning sickness, hot flashes, nausea. In a certain way, that reassured me, like a sign that my pregnancy was progressing. Now, everything is falling into place. I have a little belly. I’ve gained [10 lbs.],” Celine says. As for how they never lost hope, she says, “We believed in trying one more time. If [the doctor] had told me that my body was too tired, I would have given up.” Luckily, that was never the case.

“The couple haven’t picked out names yet but are making plenty of other plans. They won’t use any nannies – ‘Too many people in the house disorient children,’ Dion says – but will call on Dion’s sister Linda and her husband Alain for help. ‘My only task is to make my children happy,’ Dion says. ‘And too bad if the house sometimes becomes a mess. We’ll do the same thing we did with Rene-Charles, who stayed with us in our bedroom for the first year,’ says Dion. ‘We’ll keep them near us, too, because we have a big bed’,” People writes, citing Celine.

At the moment, Celine and Rene don’t know yet whether they’ll have boys or girls, but that will change next week, the diva explains. In the same interview, she also says that she and Rene have enough experience not to be “blinded” by the miracle of newborns, so that Rene-Charles will never have reason to be jealous.

Woods public apology

After three months in silence from the scandal made a serious dent in his reputation, career, his marriage, and so on, Tiger Woods already made his first public appearance. He chose to offer his apologies online and live, bypassing traditional media coverage. While the actual apology probably didn’t fool that many people, it seems to have done the trick and boosted his approval quite a bit. Regardless of the outcome, it’s clear that people really wanted to know what he had to say, with almost 700,000 tuning into the live video on Ustream alone, 683,000 to be specific.

Not only were a lot of people watching Woods apology, but they were talking about it as well, with over 93,000 tweets about it in just the first hour after the stream. Ustream’s live chat feature, one of the main draws of the site, was disabled during the actual stream, so it only managed to rack up 3,300 comments. In any case, fake or not, the apology managed to sway the hearts of quite a few people and, according to one digital-marketing firm, Woods approval rating hit 68 percent, up from a low point of 48 percent in December. Still, he has some way to go before reaching the approval rating he had before the whole scandal, a sky-high 91 percent.

Valentine’s Day movie got the top spot

zThe film stars everyone who is anyone, from Julia Roberts to Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Ashton Kutcher, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift and Jamie Foxx, to name just a few. It’s directed by Garry Marshall, who also came out with the smashing hits “Pretty Woman” and “Runaway Bride,” both starring Roberts as well (and Richard Gere), and aims to show how different people react to Valentine’s Day.

Early this weekend, estimates were saying the film would probably go beyond the $50 million threshold at the box office – and that it did. “The star-laden Valentine’s Day has topped the US box office, as the film cashed in on the romantic holiday. Starring Julia Roberts, Ashton Kutcher, Anne Hathaway and Jamie Foxx, among many others, the movie took $52.4m (£33.4m) in its opening three days.

Reports were saying that Julia Roberts got $3 million for a 6-minute part, which amounted to an extended cameo. This also meant the star got about $500,000 a minute, or $8,333 per second or a minimum of $11,952 for each word she uttered in front of the camera. Not too shabby for 3 days of work, which is how much time she spent on the set of “Valentine’s Day,” but overall a wise investment on the part of New Line Cinema.
