problem of our new apartment

The main problem of our new apartment is the lower ceiling. I can even touch the supposedly ceiling in all rooms. Yet, the light fixtures installed are good for higher ceiling. Can you imagine the high temperature when these lights are turned on? We really have to replace it to smaller watts and smaller bulbs since the area is also small.
But, in the bedroom it is recommended to use lampshade just to give illumination. I’d prefer the desk lamp so I can use it whenever I work during the night. I have seen a lot of good design in lighting showplace site. I just have to wait until such time we pay off our debts from hubby’s operation. That way I can sleep soundly during the night.
