After a workout don’t forget to cool down! The most important part of keeping fit and healthy has to be the recovery phase. It gets the byproducts produced during exercise out of your muscles and into your bloodstream, to be transported to the kidneys, liver, or lungs for processing. It gives your blood pressure time to get back to normal, and keeps you sweating slightly so your body can return to a temperature suited to normal activities. Although full recover from exercise takes two days, the first three to five minutes after an exercise session are vital in getting these recovery processes started.
